“The cinema is magic.  There is no other creative medium like it.  When you're sitting in a movie theatre and the lights go down the child that’s alive in all of us is resurrected, and to a certain degree it’s like you're watching a movie for the first time.”

Timothy was born next to the sunny beaches of Santa Monica, California, and he began making short films as soon as he could stand on a skateboard.  This early training developed a distinct and personal style that shapes his work.  His signature frame is precisely composed and drips with color, texture, light, and a moving image that explodes with kinetic energy.

His freelance work caught the eye of the powerhouse skateboard company World Industries.  After a brief tenure with World he was hired by Girl Skateboards, a company co-owned by legendary music video, commercial, and feature film director Spike Jonze.  For five years Timothy soaked up everything he could under the Girl banner.  He shot and co-produced four feature-length skateboarding films that have reached every corner of the globe.

Having a firm understanding of the creative as well as the business side of film production, Timothy ventured out where he wrote, shot, produced and directed Listen: A Skateboarding Film.  Listen was one of the first independent skateboarding films ever released and was nominated for three awards by Big Brother, a skateboarding magazine distributed by renowned publisher Larry Flynt.

Feeling like he needed to further develop his talents so he could dive into narrative work, Timothy lucked into a private film seminar hosted by Robert Zemeckis, the academy award winning director of Forrest Gump.  During a chance conversation Timothy impressed Mr. Zemeckis with his encyclopedic knowledge of film and extensive work history.  After their brief encounter not only did Mr. Zemeckis write a letter of recommendation for film school but he also mentored Timothy’s final thesis project, Lost HillsLost Hills had a solid run on the short film festival circuit and was showcased on Fine Cut: KCET’s Festival of Student Film.

Timothy continues to sharpen his skills as a writer, director, camera operator and director of photography.  While he carves out a name for himself in the music video and commercial world he still hasn’t forgotten his skateboarding roots.  He has served as director of photography and associate producer on the last six seasons of The Captain and Casey Show that is currently airing on Fuel tv.
